Preschool - School Age
3 - 10 years old
Children who receive speech therapy at this age may need support and skilled intervention for: language disorders or delays, speech sound disorders or delays (also known as articulation or phonological disorders), social skills, school-readiness skills, learning disabilities and the associated cognitive-communication disorders. Speech therapy via telepractice may be more of a direct service delivery model (video), depending on your child's skill level and ability to be independent. The speech therapist may only spend 1-1.5 hours a week with your child, you will spend every day with them. Therefore, the parent coaching model, or at least some parent involvement in the session, is recommended in order for you to learn how to elicit language and support your child.
